Ardhangini - Ek Ardhsatya (2016)

Inspired from Rabindra Nath Tagore's classic novel, this multi-layered relationship drama revolves around Bimla, a beautiful young woman, as she journeys from her world of dreams, to stark reality.

Her husband, Nikhilesh is a wealthy western-educated landowner, a complete gentleman who is loved by all for his loving, caring and understanding nature. He cares less for himself and more for the people around him especially his wife Bimla and childhood friend Sandeep.

Nikhilesh is madly in love with his wife Bimla, and the unconditional love makes him stand out among the other men of that era. At a time when prostitution and alcoholism were considered normal, he chose complete monogamy. He chooses to challenge tradition by providing Bimla with schooling and convincing her to move out of the seclusion in which married women were kept, going against the wishes of his own family.

Sandeep, Nikhilesh’s best-friend, is a freedom-fighter, who returns to the village years after years. He succeeds in convincing Bimla to join him in his rebellion against the British. When the relationship between Bimla and Sandeep grows beyond friendship, complications emerge. How will this unique love triangle evolve?
