'Googly' is a romantic tale with a twist. Set in a metro, it is mainly catered towards the urban youth.
The movie opens in Mangalore, with the hero getting injured and being admitted to hospital by a girl named Swathi (Kriti Kharbhanda), who is in tears looking at his suffering.
Soon, it becomes known that he is a business tycoon Sharath (Yash). When Swathi comes to know that he requires blood, she decides to donate her blood in order to save him. A flashback opens up with the heroine, a medical student, coming to Bangalore to participate in the World Economic Forum.
It seems that Yash doesn't like girls, but believes in love. However, he pretends as if he hates the concept of love as well. While most girls ignore him for the same, Swathi likes his strange behavior and starts liking him. As expected, he too falls in love, but neither of them is willing to confess to being in love.
However, the story takes a twist when the hero sees his leading lady talking to other person. This creates a misunderstanding and they part ways. Will the separation be permanent or will the couple manage to sort out their differences and get back together?
