Honeymoon (1960)

Shanta and Prema are fast friends who are educated and modern in their manners and views towards life. Shanta moves into her cousin Sitaram's house, after her father's death and she is mistreated by his wife who despises her modern ways. Shanta meets with Kishore, a painter who hasn't sold his works and eventually both of them understand their love for each other and get married, even though they lead a life in poverty. Prema on the other hand meets with Kailash a modern man, and without further investigation she marries Kailash and leaves for London. Prema returns back only to be cheated on by Kailash and left in london. This film highlights the fact that more than modernity, love is important for happiness in life.
