The new dinosaur has been confirmed being dubbed as the "Indominus Rex". It features a Velociraptor-like stance and an Allosaurus-like head.

The T-rex in this film is the same T-rex from Jurassic Park (1993).

The Indominus Rex is a hybrid, rumored to be part Tyrannosaurus Rex, Velociraptor, Cuttlefish, and Snake.

This marks the second time that Bryce Dallas Howard has starred in the 4th installment of a movie franchise. She also starred in Terminator Salvation (2009). In both instances, she did not star in any of the previous movies in the franchise.

Chris Pratt's character's first name is Owen. In The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), Vince Vaughn played a character with the last name of Van Owen.

The product placement in the film was not at the behest of the studio, but was rather the idea of the writers and director Colin Trevorrow as a way to satirize the corporatization of popular entertainment.

Director Colin Trevorrow also directed Jake Johnson in his previous movie Safety Not Guaranteed (2012).

Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt have collaborated with Jessica Chastain in differents movies; Bryce in The Help (2011) and Chris in Zero Dark Thirty (2012).

The star of Colin Trevorrow's previous movie, Safety Not Guaranteed (2012), was Aubrey Plaza. Plaza, of course, plays the onscreen wife of Chris Pratt's character in the TV series Parks and Recreation (2009).

Chris Pratt has had 3 of his film characters been made into LEGO minifigures: Emmet from "The LEGO Movie", Star Lord from "Guardians of the Galaxy", and Owen from "Jurassic World".

The film shot under the secret working production title Ebb Tide. That working title was chosen by Steven Spielberg way before Trevorrow was involved. No one on set seemed to know a reason for the working title.

Intended to be a direct sequel to Jurassic Park (1993). While the second and third films are still considered canon, they won't be mentioned.

Vincent D'Onofrio , Jeff Goldblum (Ian Malcolm from Jurassic Park (1993) and The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), and Trevor Morgan (Eric Kirby from Jurassic Park III (2001)) all had appeared on Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2001). D'Onofrio plays Det. Robert Goren, whilst Goldblum and Morgan plays Det. Zach Nichols and Goren's nephew respectively. "Indominus Rex" means "Fierce/Untamable King" in Latin, hence the hybrid dinosaurs' erratically destructive and murderous nature.

BD Wong is the only actor from Jurassic Park (1993) to renew his character as Henry Wu.

Jason Schwartzman was considered for the role of Lowery. Jake Johnson was chosen for the role instead.

This movie is the first Jurassic Park movie not to shoot in Los Angeles. They shot at Universal studios for the previous three films, but the tax breaks in Louisiana were too attractive.

The first draft done by original writer William Monahan was not to set in a Jungle or any Green environment. As stated back in 2003 by former producer Kathleen Kennedy, "Let's say it takes place someplace else. It will not be green. We will not go back to the Jungle"

Furthermore, Josh Brolin was considered for a role; he did motion capture for Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and will reprise the role in the two-part AVENGERS Infinity War and possibly other Marvel Studios films.

This movie shot mostly on 35mm film. They filmed a lot of the big exteriors on 65mm in Hawaii. They used one of the 65mm cameras used for Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968).

Ty Simpkins and Nick Robinson's audition consisted of a script reading, and sitting down screaming pretending a dinosaur was about to eat them.

The release date of Jurassic World (2015) 12th June 2015 is oriented on the release date of the first franchise movie Jurassic Park (1993) which was released on 11th June 1993.

The Jurassic World control center set was created after doing research at Universal Studios theme park in Orlando Florida. Production designers also based some of the set on the NASA control room. 'Colin Trevorrow' (av) was actually disappointed that the control room at Universal Studios was just a few guys and some small old monitors.

This film's title is Jurassic World. Author of the Jurassic Park novels, Michael Crichton, directed Westworld (1974), in which visitors could visit theme parks centred around periods of times, that were all named with a name ending with 'world'.

They had dancers dressed up in bicycle helmets that were shaped like Raptor heads and wore gray suits with little dots on them and would chase the actors around.

Vince Vaughn was rumored to reprise his role from The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) in the early stages of development.

When "Jurassic Park 4" was still in development, Laura Dern was attached since 2007, as the only confirmed cast member, and stayed so until the plans were scrapped. With two appearances within four films, she, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum are the most ubiquitous actress of the franchise. Of Jurassic World (2015) she has said that she is "curious and excited" about the film, but jokes that she's relieved to not be a part of it: "I'm thrilled not to be chased by dinosaurs in this movie. I am tired".

The original script was written in three weeks and the studio was pushing for a quick June start. Steven Spielberg decided that they needed some more time to make the movie good, and he had the pull to shut the production down before it started prematurely. Spielberg approved the screenplay in September 2013, and filming finally began in April 2014.

The Gallimimus stampede scene seen in the trailer was filmed at Kualoa Ranch, about 200 yards from where the original stampede scene was filmed in Jurassic Park (1993).

The Gyrosphere set was built above the Ka'a'awa Valley at Kualoa Ranch, Oahu. It is still standing, and is featured in some of their tours.

This will be Bryce Dallas Howard & Judy Greer second film collaboration together as they previously starred in The Village (2004).

This is the first film in the series not to feature any of Sam Neill, Laura Dern or Jeff Goldblum. This was a creative decision by Colin Trevorrow: "I know a lot of fans want to see the original characters back. They're iconic. But I respect those actors too much to shoehorn them into this story for my own sentimental reasons. Jurassic Park isn't about the bad luck of three people who keep getting thrown into the same situation. The only reason they'd go back to that island is if the screenwriters contrived a reason for them to go."

According to Colin Trevorrow, there will be a statue of the character John Hammond, the founder of the InGen genetic company and Jurassic Park, as a means to specifically honor Sir Richard Attenborough who played the role in Jurassic Park (1993) & The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997). Attenborough had spoken in the past of possibly making another appearance in the franchise but his failing health made it highly uncertain. Unfortunately, Attenborough passed away August 24th, 2014.

The first Jurassic Park film to not have animatronic dinosaurs created by Stan Winston, as he passed away in 2008. Instead the animatronics were created by effects studio Legacy Effects, a company formed from Winston's former workshop staff.

The story idea for this film was created by Steven Spielberg and Mark Protosevich who got together privately on several occasions (without studio observance) to confer the notion of doing another installment in the Jurassic Park franchise.

First film in the Jurassic Park series to feature an open fully functional dinosaur theme park. In Jurassic Park (1993), the park was under construction and not yet open, and in The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), Jurassic Park: San Diego wasn't entirely completed and lacked dinosaurs.

The music in the trailer is a rendition of 'John Williams' original theme. This marks the first "Jurassic" film for Michael Giacchino, however, one of his first jobs as a composer was to make the music for the PlayStation game of The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997).

The concept of sharks being used as dino fodder was Colin Trevorrow's idea, and was inspired by producer Steven Spielberg's film Jaws (1975).

The film's original title was "Jurassic Park: Extinction".

The map in the control room shows a large "restricted area" in the Northern part of Isla Nublar. When compared with the map of the original Jurassic Park, the T-Rex paddock would have been in this area. The first teaser poster for Jurassic World showed a Velociraptor standing on the car the T-Rex pushed over the cliff in Jurassic Park (1993) with a nest of eggs where the tire used to be. In the background, the new park is under construction. This could indicate an entire section of the island that contains dinosaurs living in the "wild", as they did on Isla Sorna/Site B, and not part of the park attractions.

The gyrosphere was Steven Spielberg's idea. According to Colin Trevorrow, then Spielberg "wanted to create a way for people to get up close and personal with the animals, to make it a self-driving, free-roaming experience. It loads on a track, but once you're out there, you actually get to navigate around the valley".

There will be LEGO sets based on the film, making it the third time Chris Pratt has been portrayed in LEGO, with the other two being The LEGO Movie (2014) and Guardians of the Galaxy (2014). The Owen figure even uses the same headpiece as Star-Lord.

During early stages of development, Harrison Ford was set to star in this film but due to the quality of the final product of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) and other reasons, Ford decided to drop out.

In the trailers, the velociraptors appear to have been "tamed" by the park rangers. This may reference an idea by Dr. Wu, BD Wong's character, in the original novel where he suggests to John Hammond that they alter the dinosaurs DNA to "slow them down and domesticate them."

Armie Hammer, Henry Cavill, Glenn Howerton, Jason Sudeikis, Josh Brolin, John Krasinski, Chris Pratt, & Jason Statham were all considered for the role of Owen. Pratt ended up chosen for the role.

BD Wong is the only known cast member to return from one of the previous films. He previously appeared in the original Jurassic Park (1993). He died in the original novel.

At the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con, Steven Spielberg officially announced the film was in development and would probably be released within the next 2 to 3 years.

The trailer confirmed the appearances of following dinosaurs: Stegosaurus, Apatosaurus Gallimimus and Velociraptors. It also shows a Tylosaurus, however, that species is not classified as a Dinosaur, but as a Mosasaur.

According to director Colin Trevorrow, the film is a direct sequel to the original film, virtually ignoring the events of the second and third films.

Ironically, Michael Giacchino replaces John Williams as the composer for this movie. Williams will score the upcoming J.J Abrams movie, Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015). Giacchino has scored all of Abrams's previous movies, while Williams has scored two of the three previous movies in the Jurassic Park franchise, with some of his themes used in the third movie.

This film takes place after the death of original character John Hammond. It is also the first film in the series to be released after the death of original cast member Richard Attenborough.
