'Sarfarosh' is an action-oriented crime thriller which follows the transformation of a young student into a committed and dedicated police officer, ACP Ajay Singh Rathod as he tries to dismantle the terrorist network in India. An ardent fan of ghazal singer Gulfam Hassan, he happily accepts an invitation to a concert where he spots a familiar face, Seema. Ajay had been in love with Seema when they were studying in Delhi, but never got the courage to propose her. Gulfam, on the other hand, is Indian by birth, but had to move to Pakistan as a child during partition. Deeply scarred due to the experience, he is still happy that the Government allows him to live in his palatial residence whenever he comes to India. It is revealed that Ajay's father and elder brother were going to testify against some criminals, but are attacked by them –Ajay's elder brother was murdered while his father was kidnapped and permanently damaged, but left alive. This event totally alters the course of Ajay's life, inspiring him to join the police force. Now, he is in charge of the task of apprehending a group of terrorists, that are being sheltered and protected by corrupt parliamentary representatives, with arms being supplied by Pakistan. Ajay does not know that the trail which he is following will lead him to Rajasthan, right into the house of the person who runs this operation; a person who is known to him. Will Ajay manage to identify and bring to justice those involved in illegal and corrupt activities?
